A horse runs best with the wind in its mane, and that is the moment this piece holds. I make it by hand in my studio in Warrior, Alabama, layered in wood so the mane seems to lift and the body leans into the run.

The wall art version is built flat, the way most of my pieces are, with the grain of each wood doing the shading instead of paint, the horse set on a geometric quilt-block field. It is finished natural and set in a simple 1-inch frame, sized to hang on its own or group with other small pieces. Wall art version includes farmhouse style, natural finish frame, as shown in photo.
